Motta Gran Café

The original Milan coffeehouse

In 1928, Angelo Motta opened the first bar in the center of Milan in the historic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping mall, which quickly became the favorite meeting place of the Milanese. Today, just like then, Motta Milano 1982 captivates with its unique atmosphere of a traditional Italian coffee house combined with a contemporary, elegant interior design.

Italian coffee culture is also celebrated in Switzerland at the Gran Café Motta, the traditional meeting place on the Limmatquai in Zurich. Stylishly decorated by the famous Swiss architect Tilla Theus, the Gran Café impresses with its nostalgic charm elegantly combined with modern design elements. This is where visitors like to interrupt their stroll through the alleys of Zurich's old town and treat themselves to a coffee break. As soon as the temperatures permit, countless coffee tables line the boulevard: a classic place to linger.
